Falk Schmidt

Falk Schmidt is an Academic Officer at the International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change Secretariat and acting head of its Science Management unit. He is liaison to several research projects of IHDP and actively involved in the development of new research initiatives. He has a special expertise in the field of water and governance related research as well as in climate change policies. His area of interest lies also in the work connected to science and policy.

He holds a M.A. in Practical Philosophy, Business and Law.

Currently, Falk Schmidt is a PhD student at Freie Universitaet Berlin. In his dissertational thesis he proposes a new way to understand current global water governance in the light of a renewed environmental regime theory.
