IRG-Project is chaired by Prof. Peijun Shi and Prof. Carlo C. Jaeger. Research in the scope of the project is carried out by its regional offices, each office providing a different field of experties.

The two main international project offices are located in Beijing and Potsdam.

Other project offices are currently set up in Colorado (USA), Mekelle (Ethiopia) and  Singapore (Indonesia).

IRG-Project is advised by its Scientific Steering Committee as well by selected scientists from the IHDP network.
